3.9 Art Collective is proud to welcome our newest member: Cheryl Derricotte
Cheryl Patrice Derricotte is a visual artist and her primary medium is glass. Originally from Washington, DC, since 2011 she lives and makes art in the bay area of California. In Fall of 2016, Cheryl became the newest co-op member of “Developing Environments,” the oldest, legal live/work residence for artists in San Francisco.
She has an extensive background in the arts and community development. Cheryl holds the Master of Fine Arts from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), the Master of Regional Planning from Cornell University and a B.A. in Urban Affairs from Barnard College, Columbia University. In 2015, Cheryl served as a member of the Mayor of Oakland’s Task Force on Artist’s Workspaces and Affordable Housing.
Awards include Emerging Artist at the Museum of the African Diaspora; Gardarev Center Fellow; Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass’ Visionary Scholarship and a D.C. Commission on the Arts & Humanities/ National Endowment for the Arts Artist Fellowship Grant.
Cheryl Derricotte was part of Call for Beauty at Root Division joined 3.9 Art Collective in April 2017.
